Deacon Haymond was born and raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah- but Park City helps him rediscover a community of his youth. Escaping the grind of a more urban landscape, Deacon has found a community that works hard to preserve itself- its history, sense of place and small town feel.
As an Associate Attorney at Jones Waldo’s Park City’s office, Deacon is directly involved in helping Parkites- and all of Summit County- preserve and support the community that they love. He helps people plan the future of their families or small businesses, and helps them plan for the future of their community as well.
Working with The Park City Foundation, Deacon finds that they are able to share great advice. “We each bring a different perspective to the same goal- encouraging philanthropy in the community. This is a fun and beloved part of his practice, and Deacon truly believes in the power of planned giving. “The Park City Foundation provides the right tools and advice to families looking to secure the future of their loved ones and magnify the community impact of their giving. People who love Park City want to see Park City succeed, and The Foundation is an extension of that conviction.”

Deacon was taught the power of philanthropy from his parents. By giving to a local educational institution, they formed lasting relationships in their community and were able to witness the impact of their gift on the educational institution and the surrounding community. Haymond now works with clients to provide them with similar experiences.
The services offered by The Park City Foundation make sense for his clients. They’re relationship based: “It’s working with Trisha and Katie who know, love, and live in the community.” Planned Giving tools, such as donor-advised funds, are easy to set up and have low overhead. “As client relationships grow, options and solutions for planned giving take on a more sophisticated and locally-focused approach, providing more impact for local nonprofit organizations and our surrounding community.”

The relationship starts with the client- what they envision for the future of their family, their land, their business and progresses to the future of their community. “Planning from this standpoint offers many tax-savvy options that bring value to everyone, and that is also how The Park City Foundation helps me connect my clients to their community.” |
